Air Commodore Ranjan Mukherjee has had over 32 years of service in the Indian Air Force. He has multifaceted experience in administration and management with the Indian government, both in defense as well as the civil sectors. In addition to this, he served as the Officer on Special Duty to the Hon’ble Lt. Governor, Delhi from 2007-2013.
Ranjan has proven his leadership abilities on numerous occasions with his innate ability to plan and execute tasks under strenuous circumstances and achieve goals by managing diverse teams and utilizing effective negotiation and communication skills.
In addition to this, Ranjan has gained valuable experience in Supply Chain Management, Materials Management, and Defense Administration with a specialization in large procurements and associated contract and budget management with the Indian Air Force. Furthermore, he has carried out innumerable successful negotiations for the Air Force with various firms across the globe and has been credited as a Strategic Negotiator.
Ranjan served the Delhi Government where he gained immense experience in dealing with complex Politico-Administrative Issues. The Government utilized his services on deputation from Indian Air Force – MoD, Government of India for monitoring and executing operations of the Commonwealth Games, 2010 and various Govt. Depts. such as Delhi Police – dealt with law & order issues of the National capital, Municipal Corporation of Delhi, Disaster Preparedness, Grievance Redressal of Citizens of Delhi, Traffic Management of Delhi, Yamuna River Development, Delhi Red Cross, etc. Simultaneously he has also worked as Principal Commissioner in the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) for some special time-bound projects.
Currently, Air Commodore Ranjan Mukherjee serves as the Additional Director General of Prasar Bharti while on deputation to the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting. He has been an instrumental part of Prasar Bharti in launching a new channel called “Kisan” that has been dedicated to our nation’s farmers and the rural population. The concept, planning, and the launch of Kisan was spearheaded by Ranjan himself and was appreciated by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, and the Hon’ble Minister of Information & Broadcasting.
Ranjan completed a Master’s Degree Program in Business Administration with a Specialization in Human Resource Development from Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies, Pune and is an alumnus of Banaras Hindu University where he completed a Post-Graduate Degree in Agricultural Tech-Sciences & Economics.
In addition to this, Air Commodore Ranjan Mukherjee is a recipient of the Vishisht Seva Medal awarded to him by the Indian Air Force.
