Brig. DS Ahlawat

Biography

Brigadier Ahlawat served in the Indian Army for 34 years as an Infantry officer, during which he amassed immense operational and logistical experience. He then went on to serve for the Defense Intelligence Agency under the Ministry of Defense, where he commanded large Infantry Brigades in high altitude areas along the Line of Control in Northern Kashmir.

In addition to this, he has gained immense operational and logistical experience across India. Brig. Ahlawat served as a Sub Area Commander in the Northeastern India where he dealt with various operational and logistical challenges of the Indian Army, Indian Air Force, and various para-military forces deployed in over five states. Furthermore, during the height of the Punjab insurgency and the commencement of the J&K Militancy, he served with the Operations branch of the National Security Guard (NSG). Upon completion of his tenure with the NSG, he served as the Deputy Military Secretary for the Government of India and was on the personal staffs of three of India’s Presidents.

Currently, Brig. Ahlawat is a well-known and admired personality in India’s private security industry. He serves as the Chief of Security and Administration at HQ ITC Hotel Division where he is responsible for the security of all ITC Hotel properties across India.
