Mr. Sandeep Mittal is an officer of the Indian Police Service with interests in Cyber Security and immense experience in Cyber Crime Investigations.
He is a Postgraduate in Cyber Defence & Information Assurance from Cranfield University, UK. As Zonal Director, Narcotics Control Bureau, New Delhi, he liquidated a number of National and International drug-syndicates involved in trafficking of drugs through use of Internet.
He is a Chevening Cyber Fellow, UK and a Commonwealth Scholar in Internet Law & Policy at University of Strathclyde, Scotland. He has published papers on Cyber Issues in a number of peer-reviewed journals. He is on the Editorial Board of Indian Journal of Criminology and Criminalistics. He is the Lead Author of a Chapter on ‘Digital Evidence’ in the book titled ‘A Forensic Guide for Crime Investigators : Standard Operating Procedures’ published by LNJN NICFS, of which he is also the Co-Executive Editor. He has designed modules on ‘Digital Evidence’ for Senior Criminal Justice Administrators in India and SAARC countries. Currently he is working on a Research Project titled ‘Validation of Open Source Digital Forensic Tools for Capacity Building in Indian Law Enforcement Agencies at Police Station Level’.
